Marana residents know their parks and recreation facilities provide places to get active, explore nature or connect with friends and family. But what they may not know is that their parks and recreation also contribute to improved health outcomes, higher property values and environmental sustainability.
Parks and recreation have the power to strengthen communities, transform lives and protect the future. That’s why the Marana Parks and Recreation Department is joining cities and towns across the country in celebrating the power of parks and recreation during the 30th anniversary of Park and Recreation Month, an event created by the National Recreation and Park Association.
The month-long celebration highlights the essential value of parks and recreation. Hundreds of communities across the country are participating this year.
The Marana Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a variety of activities to invite the community to get active and discover programs or park facilities. The team has packed this month’s calendar with Splash N’ Dash aquathons, dive-in movies, sports camps and more.
