As the Town grows, so does the need for improved public safety. Marana has approximately 40,000 residents, up more than 5,000 since the 2010 Census.
Police Chief Terry Rozema has been making the rounds over the past few months hosting open houses about his department’s need for a dedicated facility. Police personnel currently occupy spaces in both the Marana Operations Center and Marana Municipal Complex.
The first public hearing on the proposed facility occurred last night during a Town Council meeting. The next is scheduled for Dec. 2 during the Council meeting at the municipal complex (11555 W. Civic Center Drive). The meeting starts at 7 p.m.
Residents or business owners who want to offer their opinions on the facility may do so by visiting Marana’s Open Town Hall page. Chief Rozema’s presentation is included for those unfamiliar with the project.
