Ventana Medical expanding to Marana

Ventana Medical Systems is expanding its footprint to Marana.

CBRE Group, an affiliate of Cottonwood Properties, has announced it will be constructing and leasing a 60,000 square foot distribution facility here for Ventana Medical Systems, Inc. The new facility will be located in Tangerine Commerce Park on Tangerine Farms Road just west of Interstate 10. This is the first development within the 100-acre business park that provides a range of retail and employment uses and will be a key location for future employment and retail growth in Marana.

Contracting is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of this year with the facility opening about a year later.

Ventana Medical Systems, Inc. is a member of the Roche Group and a world leader and innovator of tissue-based cancer diagnostic solutions for patients worldwide. At its existing facility in Oro Valley, Ventana delivers medical diagnostic systems and biopsy-based cancer tests that are shaping the future of healthcare. The Marana facility will function as a multi-use distribution facility with some assembly.

“Ventana has a well-deserved worldwide reputation for excellence in biosciences,” said Marana Town Manager Gilbert Davidson. “Its presence in Marana will enhance our community and spark further economic development.”

The Tangerine Commerce Park, located at 7753 W. Tangerine Road in Marana, is less than half a mile off Interstate 10 on Tangerine Road and is the only mixed-use and industrial development along the quickly developing Tangerine Corridor with direct access to Oro Valley and the bio-tech industries. The park can accommodate uses from 2- to 3- acre requirements to 100-acre requirements.
