Last week’s National Trails Day celebration had a Marana flavor.
U.S. Interior Secretary Sally Jewell and the National Park Service highlighted the Town’s Wild Burro Trail during the festivities. The Department of the Interior recognized 21 recreation trails in 11 states. The 6.3-mile Wild Burro Trail is part of the Tortola Mountains trails system.
That puts our trail and system in exclusive company and places all of it in front of a national audience. It’s a huge honor and a testament to the work put in by Town staff and volunteers, some of whom can be seen here.
