The Town’s Finance Department has been named recipient of a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
The award is for the Town’s Fiscal Year 2013 budget and comprehensive financial plan. In order to receive the honor, a governmental unit must publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communications device. Budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories, and in the 14 mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award. The Town earned the award for the sixth consecutive year.
The GFOA is a nonprofit association that serves 17,500 government finance professionals in North America.
