The latest on the Accenture Match Play field from the PGA TOUR:
One chance remains for players to move into the top 64 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) and solidify their position in the field for the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship. The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on the PGA TOUR and Joburg Open, co-sanctioned by the European Tour and Sunshine Tour, are the final tournaments for players to earn OWGR points and punch their tickets to the Accenture Match Play Championship, which returns to The Golf Club at Dove Mountain in Marana Feb. 18-24.
The Accenture Match Play Championship features the top 64 players in the OWGR as of Feb. 11. The bracket and tee times will be unveiled Feb. 17 once the OWGR is updated following the conclusion of the Northern Trust Open on the PGA TOUR.
Only five players between No. 56-No. 75 in the Official World Golf Ranking are playing in official events this week. Players in the field at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, looking to hold onto a spot in the Accenture Match Play Championship, are Rafael Cabrera Bello (No. 56) and Tim Clark (No. 58). Players looking to move inside the top 64 with a good week are Geoff Ogilvy (No. 69), Brendon de Jonge (No. 71) and Fredrik Jacobson (No. 73).
