Marana police officer honored

pambrumeOfficer Pam Brume is the Marana Police Department’s honoree for the Sons of the American Revolution Outstanding Law Enforcement Officers of Southern Arizona for 2012.

Brume has been with the Marana Police Department for four years. She is part of the department’s honor guard and continually looks for opportunities to increase her job knowledge through training and on the job experience. Brume has attended advanced training for handling critical incidents, as well as the Northwestern Accident Investigation I and II (with more than 200 hours of advanced training in collision investigations).

She has also attended the advanced Standard Field Sobriety testing, Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus training and has completed the requirements to become a certified HGN technician. She is fluent in Spanish, Persian and sign language, is a martial arts instructor and has her bachelor’s degree in psychology and linguistics.

“When the command staff talks about future leaders in the organization, Officer Brume’s name consistently comes up in the discussions,” said Marana Chief of Police Terry Rozema. “Her drive and initiative will undoubtedly allow her to excel in any area she chooses.”

The Sons of the American Revolution is a historical, educational and patriotic non-profit organization that seeks to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, an appreciation for patriotism, a respect for our national symbols, the value of citizenship and the creation of one nation and one people from many nations.

Brume was among the honorees at the Tucson Installation of Chapter Officers and Law Enforcement Awards Banquet on Jan. 19.
