The Town’s Environmental Engineering Division has started working on the 2013 Stormwater Pollution Prevention Calendar. Since 2005, the popular calendar has featured artwork by Marana Unified School District students from the third, fourth and fifth grades.
Each month features a student drawing that touts the value of conserving water, our most precious natural resource. The 13 winners (including the cover drawing) come from an art contest sponsored by the Town and held among MUSD’s elementary schools. Each school receives a few dozen copies of the calendar and the winning artists get a couple to keep.
The new calendar will be available by the middle of December. Visit the Marana Municipal Complex (11555 W. Civic Center Drive) or Marana Operations Center (5100 W. Ina Road) to get one.
The calendars are another way the Town and school district work together to make Marana a better community. They also prove that we have some talented young artists here.
